Radeon 9800 pro MDK10, NForce2

SInce this is my first linux trial, i figured that MDK would be a good place to start (easy to use... sort). So far, i managed to get the nvidia nforce2 drivers isntalled, and they work to a point. Sound does work, as I am able to play MP3s, but gaim and a few other apps do not produce sound output.

Also, on the ATI side of the border, I got the driver installed. i did RPM -Uh --force fglrx* and got it installed i think. The steps i did are below.

Code:
cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
sh ./make.sh
cd ..
sh ./make-install.sh
--THEN--
fglrxconfig
But, when i run fglrxinfo, it still says the MESA drivers are loaded.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: If i run /sbin/lsmod, fglrx and agpgart are loaded.
