Radeon 7500 PCI, direct rendering

I recently brought a Radeon 7500 PCI graphics card and am unable to get direct rendering working. If anyone was able to get this working, could you please help me out. Below's a portion of my "XF86Config-4" file.

Section "Module"
Load "dbe" # Double-buffering
#Load "GLcore" # OpenGL support
#Load "dri" # Direct rendering infrastructure
Load "glx" # OpenGL X protocol interface
Load "extmod" # Misc. required extensions
Load "fbdevhw"
# Load "v4l" # Video4Linux
Load "record" # X event recorder
# You only need the following two modules if you do not use xfs.
# Load "freetype" # TrueType font handler
# Load "type1" # Adobe Type 1 font handler
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "keyboard"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
Option "XkbRules" "XFree86"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
# Modified by mouseconfig
Driver "mouse"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Unknown"
ModelName "Unknown"
HorizSync 31.0-60.0
VertRefresh 56.0-85.0
Option "dpms"

Section "Device"
Identifier "Radeon 7500 QW"
Driver "radeon"
BoardName "Radeon 7500 QW"
Option "ForcePCIMode" "On"

The reason I got "dri" commented out is b/c if I don't, I just get a black screen when trying to start the Xserver.

XFree86.0.log is giving me some unresolved symbols...

With the above configuration, I was able to run glxgears and got about 200fps. Is this is typical or am I way below the rate?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
