Quake 3 Arena Sound/Mouse

Hi Folks!
I've installed Q3 Arena on my Redhat 9 using my Windows Version of Quake3 and the Linux PointRelease 1.32.
Well, looks great, but there's some trouble.

Problem #1:
Everytime a soundfile's played it stops after a very short time (e.g. the videos are only 1s with sound).

Problem #2:
I can use my mousekeys and my wheel but there's no chance to move the cursor in the menus or to look around in the game (nope, i've not forgotten to check that option in the menu).

Hey you guys, help me out!!!

Have you upgraded to the latest point release? I believe it fixes the mouse problem. 1.31b. You may actually have to look for it, because it does not show up on the idsoftware website...

ok, it works now. but there's still no real sound.

by the way: tuxracer is without any sound. are the soundfiles of these games perhaps mp3s? bcus redhat removed the mp3 support... on my mandrake 9.1 both games were with sound.
