Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to connect a server to our SAN via Qlogic FCA2214 PCI-X HBA running RH7.2

First used the Compaq StorageWorks agent that came with the platform kit. No luck. I guess it uses precompiled binaries and only resulted in was:

qla2300 191072 1 (initializing)

and never finished. Can't even rmmod. Device busy...

I managed to get the source from Qlogic and compiled it and installed the modules but have to wait for reboot to see if it'll actually work. Server is live and can't just bounce it till traffic dies down.

Any ideas what I might check to increase chances of success?

config:
Compaq DL380
cciss 5300 controller (RAID5)
single-processor
1gig ram

SAN is HSG80 all hooked to a optical hub w/Gbic

What happened when you ran 'insmod' on the new module(s)?

After that, show the output of lsmod, that might help the real gurus that hang out around here.
