Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question QLogic FC + Redhat 8

I recently switched my workstation from Debian 3.0 to Redhat 8.0. One strange thing that I've noted is that when I boot up, I find that Redhat is ordered my fibre channel drives in the reverse order that Debian did. It appears that the qlogic driver module is different between the two distributions.

This is quite a nuisance since adding a fibre device to higher select IDs re-orders the hard drives and breaks my system.

Is there a way to force the qla22xx driver in redhat to reverse its drive ordering?

Also, I have a fibre raid controller with two Logical Units defined. Redhat does not see LUN 1, only LUN 0. I've tried passing the kernel max_scsi_luns=128 at bootup, but that doesn't seem to help.

Thanks for your help.
