Q and A: Modeline for Gateway FPD2185W 21" flat panel display


i finally got my gateway FPD2185W 21" flat panel display working with Gentoo. I thought i would
post(relevant) xorg.conf settings in here:

Section "Monitor"
....snip
HorizSync 50-80
VertRefresh 60-76
Modeline "1680x1050" 146.37 1680 1784 1960 2240 1050 1056 1071 1089 +hsync +vsync
....snip

now... it aint perfect just yet...but working quite well... ill post more info as i tweak it. just posting this in case anybody else is trying to figure it out!

if u can suggest any other tweaks, let me know.

fyi. once i was in kde i had to set my size and orientation properly to 1680x1050 ... it was 1680x1200 initially.
