I run mythtv on my machine and I have a hauppauge pvr 150. I was thinking of writing a little program for fun that could detect if a sports game was going over on time. I figured it would be pretty easy if I could just get a bmp screenshot from the s-video of my pvr 150 instead of an mpg video. Doesn't have to be bmp that's just an example. Then I could analyze the shot for the common stuff that would be on a sports broadcast like the score bar and time, etc. Granted there are a lot of different formats, but that's beside the point.

So, what I'm wondering is if there's any simple script I can write that would just grab a quick screenshot from the s-video input of the pvr 150. If it's not possible then no harm no foul. Just wondering if someone knows a really simple solution.
