Puppy can't see my new usb stick

I bought a new usb stick but not only will Windows not see it but Puppy won't either. I tried Gparted and that can't see it although Pdisk did. I then chose the option "fdisk" but that brings up a window which disappears so fast I can't read what it says! Has anyone any suggestions please? Thanks
