Red face PSC 750 in Linux

OK, I've put literally 12 hours in 2 days on this. The HP all-in-one PSC 750 worked flawlessly in Mandrake 9.0. Since then I've moved to a roll-your-own linux. I've installed CUPS, hpoj, and hpijs. Installs fine in cups. The test page has only 1 line, /invalidfont in fontfind, and then some crap about the font.

OpenOffice and other software that prints does not have this printer in the list, although it is clearly installed in cups. And yes, it can be seen through the browser.

To use it in gimp, I have to use the photosmart 1100 gimp print driver, but gimp does see the psc750 in cups.

It scans flawlessly using sane+xsane.

Gimp-print is really no big deal. My biggest problem is that I need to print documents, and openoffice doesn't even see this printer installed. How does Mandrake 9.0 incorporate this printer so flawlessly? Any thoughts? Thx in advance.

EvilEntity 0.2.5, 2.4.20 kernel, most recent cups, hpoj, and hpijs.

All you need to do is run spadmin from your office/program
directory and it will give you the printer-queue ... you can then
add it to your OO's setup.

Cheers
