PSC 500 - Prints, can't scan?

System Info:

Fedora Core 4
Kernel 2.6.11
HP PSC 500 (Printer/Scanner/Copier) - Parallel device

My issue, the printer works great. I can print from OpenOffice or anywhere.

My problem, I can't figure out how to setup the device as a scanner. Could someone tell me where to begin? A link to another site/thread would be helpful also.
