psaux recieves events from usb mice?

I am trying to start 2 x sessions witht he mice seperate through the ruby project, one mouse is usb, the other is ps/2, I set one xf86config file to point to the device /dev/psaux, and the other to /dev/input/mice for all usb mice, however when I move eather mouse the cursor moves on both, it is not a confi file problem, I did a cat /dev/psaux and a cat /dev/input/mice and both recieve calls when eathe rmouse is used, and yes I am sure one is ps/2 and th other is usb.

I am using kernel 2.6.2-ruby and I compiled it myself.

slackware 8.1-9.1 hybrid w/ many customisations.

any ideas? a google revealed nothing.
