PS2 and Built in Mouse Not working Knoppix Laptop

Hi Everyone

I recently got a laptop, and I can boot into knoppix. While running the bootloader, it recognizes a General PS/2 Mouse (whether I have one plugged in or not), but when the OS loads, the mouse is not recognized. I cannot move the cursor around.

What should I do? I have tried both the built in laptop mouse and an external PS2 Mouse, and I do not have access to a USB mouse.

Thank you very much.

-Maneesh

Edit: I tried using a USB mouse, and it seems to work, but I really need the PS/2 one to work. The PS/2 Mouse works in Windows.

If your laptop is a modern one with a touch pad mouse try to add this kernel parimitar at the boot prompt.
