Propblem with harddisk

Hi All,

I got a propbem with the scsi hardidsk on my server. It was running with Fedora Core 4 and all of a sudden its showed kernal panic on boot due to some io error. Not able to read from harddisk. So I tried the knoppix to check the harddisk. Still no luck. Aslo fdisk -l doesn't print any partition info.
Please help me to fix the problem.

Quote:
root@Knoppix:~# scsi_info /dev/sda

Well... this is a propbem (sic) in itself: you realise that you can expect problems when you run extremely legacy distros?

In this case it looks like the drive is bunta'd.

Have you tried to fsck it?

fsck is not working. How can I fsck if non of the partitions are not showing up?

Thanks

If you are very lucky, it may be just the data cable - I ran into that situation not too long ago.
