Promise SuperTrak EX8350 - installing Linux on hardware raid array

I just got a Promise SuperTrak EX8350 board for a HTPC project, and I'm having trouble finding a distro that will recognize the board (I've tried Suse 10 and 10.1, Gentoo and MEPIS).

The driver is available for download from Promise, but the procedure seems to require a Floppy drive. which I don't have.

I've decided to go with whatever distro I first suceed in installing on my raid array.

Any suggestions and pointers (to a brief how-to perhaps) would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently stuck.

Thanks,
- G

I couldnt really find much info on that card. Are you sure its hardware RAID? Post a link to detailed specs on it.

3Ware makes the best hardware raid card, and they also have the best linux compatibility.

There is a link to a PDF datasheet on the Promise product page on their site (Apparently I'm not allowed to post URLs..)

The board seems to be based on the Intel IOP333 XScale processor.

There are binary drivers available for SUSE and Redhat, as well as an open source driver from their site. I was hoping there was a distro out there with an installer / liveCD with this driver already available.
