Proliant and hardware/software raid

Hi,

I'm setting up an HP G3 Proliant with Centos and will be using RAID 0, and I was wondering what people thought was best - use the Proliant's SATA RAID capability or let Centos handle the RAID ?

Any thoughts much appreciated
Iain

I'd always pick hardware RAID over software RAID. It usually has a more painless way to replace a failed drive (e.g. detects it and starts the sync automatically). Also the software RAID requires other steps to be available via grub that aren't always obvious.

thanks, it's what I thought but it's nice to hear someone else with a bit more nous say it! :)
