I've got an optical mouse (Logitech) plugged to the USB hub of my Compaq monitor. Occasionnally when I boot to KDE 3.2 I see the pointer but it doesn't respond to mouse movement (no light at the mouse either). I then have to unplug the hub wait a few seconds and replug it again. Then it's usually working again. It seems to be a problem with detecting the hub, since unplugging/replugging the mouse does not help.
This is quite annoying. Does anyone have a hint for me what could be wrong and how to resolve the problem?
I'm using Mandrake 10.1 by the way.

Almost same problem here - except I'm plugging mine into an external 5 port usb hub, and unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in works - I don't have to unplug the hub. Note that if I do a system restart instead of a complete "power off" this doesn't happen - when the machine restarts the mouse works fine. (Full disclosure: Same thing happens if I boot to Windows 2000 on the same machine) - possible BIOS issue, or is this just a problem w/usb hubs in general?
