Problems with USB and digital camera

I use Slackware 9.1 with 2.4.25 kernel.
I've compiled all modules, which are neccessary to use digital camera (usb and scsi support) and I supose that everything is ok. The problem shouldn't be caused wrong kernel configuration.
When I am booting my system, the following error appears:

root@localhost:/d# cat /var/log/syslog | grep usb.c
Apr 29 23:48:21 localhost kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x4a9/0x306e) is not claimed by any active driver.

And then I cant detect my digital camera as SCSI device.
Have you any idea, what should I do with that? On MDK 9.2 everything was right, also with recompiled kernel.

have you tried upgrading to the latest version of gtkam?

there are some dependencies that you'll need to install in this order
libgphoto
gphoto

and then install gtkam

i have a cannon powershot a60, and i'm running RH9, and with the newest version of gtkam, it detects it and downloads pics fine. i was impressed

At least some older cameras do not work as USB mass storage devices. But gphoto may still work. See

for the full story, including some critical remarks about compatibility of Canon cameras.
