Problems with NEC DVD+/-RW ND-6500A drive on Fedora Core 3.
Hi,
I have a DELL Inspiron 8500 laptop running Fedora Core 3 only. My NEC DVD+/-RW drive is only recognized as a DVD-R drive. Is there a way to fix this, so that I can use the drive to its full design? Thanks, Greg. |

Hi guys.
My DVD writer drive is only recognised as a DVD-R drive, and I can write DVD+RW discs on it. The fact that the drive's been recognised as 'DVD-R' doesn't mean anything. What happens when you try to burn a DVD+? Also, bacci, if you're using audio CDs in the drive, they won't show as discs, bacause an audio CD has no filesystem. This is entirely normal. Try a data CD instead. Dave |
