With graphics card inserted:
  1. Disable IGP in BIOS/UEFI.
  2. Check whether shared memory is disabled too. Otherwise disable it.
  3. Save BIOS/UEFI settings.
  4. Shut down and switch of computer and monitor(s).
  5. Unplug any monitor(s) from IGP connectors.
  6. Plug at minimum one monitor to a graphics card connector.
  7. Switch on monitor(s) and computer and start computer.

Most BIOS automatically shut down the IGP when a PCIe slot is populated by a graphics card.
was not clear? Most BIOS default to an automatic/failsafe setting that disables IGP when a discrete GPU is present. Thus, a BIOS change is usually unnecessary. It has to be that way. What do you suppose happens when discrete GPU is forced on in BIOS, but is not operable?

When IGP is automatically disabled due to presence of discrete GPU, no system RAM is allocated to it. You may find your BIOS has no option to force it to zero.
