Actually, I don't think so. I'm having the same problem with Fedora Core 2 and Redhat 9 with kernel 2.6.5.
It gets even worse when I've tried 3 different mice (1 PS/2 and 2 USB) and 2 of them (USB ones) worked fine for a while only (Until I disconnected and reconnected them). Now, none of them work.
I've searched high and low, left and right and all solutions point to the
Input Drivers FAQ , which simply does not work for me.
However this is only my home system. I have a perfectly functional laptop at work running FC2, which is weird once again.
I must note that my home system (along with all the mice) works PERFECTLY with RH9 and kernel 2.4.26 and Windows XP too..
I've read somewhere that moving some of the mouse/keyboard code into the kernel was not a smart move. Right about now, I'm inclined to agree...
