Problems with Kobishi router / NTP service

This is not realy a Linux specific problem, but I don't know where else to put the question.
I have a Kobishi router, that cannot find a NTP time server.
Result is, that the security log of the router is full of the same message "cannot find NTP time server" .
Besisdes that, the logfile has a incorrect time set ( 01/01/2002 ).
I cannot specify a timeserver in the router.
I have no firewall active.
I have no blocks on any other IP addresses set.

Anyone knows how to fix this ?

Note, that the kobishi site is not reachable ( www.kobishi.com ) ... so I cannot ( do not know how to ) access any service sites of the manufacturer either.

HEEEELP !

kobishi can't find ntp time

Hi, I'm just wondering if you ever solved this. I just purchased one of these kobishi wonder router's which is stuck on 01/01/2002 for its time with an infinately repeating "Can't find NTP time".

Thx, ck

The thing that really makes me wonder is that the "Can't find NTP time" is also what's displayed in the Kobishi manual on the page with screen shots of the security log.

No, I never solved this. The router works perfectly otherwize ... no complaints there.

What I found out sinds I posted my question is, that the Kobishi router is actually an "Edimax BR-6104" (or at least for the most part).
There is software available for this router, but I don't dare to install this in my Kobishi router sinds I do not have the original Kobishi software to restore it when the new software fails ( you end up with a dead router ).

The Edimax software should be able to set a NTP server address ( so I am told ).
... that would solve the problem.

I am also told that this could be a provider problem ... I don't know if that is true ...
My provider does not support this router and thus will not comment on this issue.

If you find anything what helps, I apriciate it if you post this ....
thanks in advance.

Problems with Kobishi Router / NTP service

This is a reply to:

After being so annoyed that my router crashes twice per day (at least) I thought about buying another one. So I gave your tip with the Edimax BR-6104 a try. Just made screenshots of the configured pages (port-forwarding, that is) and installed this:
http://www.edimax.com.tw/download/fi...-6104V059a.zip

It works fine so far, the UI got polished and the time server works now. Answer the thread if longer term experience is wanted.
