I am using fedora 12 in one of my institute computer which is connected with a hp 1020 laserjet printer. Everytime I am giving a printing job, it remains idle without showing any report although the printer shows up while running printer-config. I have ran hp-setup, but it is not doing anything since hplip-gui is not installed in it.Unfortunately this particular machine does not have internet connection. I have downloaded the tar file of latest hplip(version 3.9.12) in other computer and try to run in it but without any success.Have tried foo2zjs tar file also, but have not got any success. I searched in the net and found that it is common problem with hp 1020, but still could not find specific answer. It would be very helpful for me if some solutions in this regard come from this forum. Thanks very much for your patient reading.

Thanks Wofflow. I have already tried with foo2zjs. But make is not running properly in my case. Perhaps I have to install build-essential first. I will try that and let you know. Thanks again. Expecting any fedora specific answer from the forum.

Hi dnskdas, I had the same or similar compiling issue. I'm still looking for the correct procedure on bringing my HP1020 to work with Debian Lenny.
If I get through I will report here.
