Problems with driver make for Intel 537EP modem and kernel 2.6.16 (FC5).

I have Fedora Core 5, Kernel 2.6.16 and an Intel 537EP modem and have downloaded the intel-537ep- driver from the Intel website. After some problems with the make not finding the autoconf.h (now sorted) I am gettting errors from the make. See below:

make 537

autoconf.h matches running kernel

Failed to build driver

I have highlighted the apparent errors in red. Unfortunately my C ain't that hot and I'm not clear as to what the problem is here. I can see where the problem is, just not why it's a problem. It looks to me like maybe some kind of compatibility issue but I'm not sure.

Anybody any ideas?

I used to have one of those modems and use that driver. They stopped updating the drive around the release of kernel 2.4.12 and after that point the drivers would not comiple any more as the kernel had changed so much.

Do you know when the release date of those drivers are? If there new ones, I'll dig out my modem and try get it working again.

I´m having the same problem, but i´m using Slackware 12. When i have version 11 that driver works perfectely, but now is useless, but the problem is that there´s any other update for that driver?

Can help us with this please.
