Problems trying to use a DVB-T Receiver

Hi all. I am having trouble trying to use a DVB-T receiver I recently bought, it works perfectly on windows, but on Arch Linux it is just not recognised as it should. lsusb shows this information:

Code:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 1b80:d398 Afatech DVB-T receiver [RTL2832U]
I have compiled the kernel modules (My kernel version is 3.18.5-1) that are supposed to work with this receiver manually from this git repo: git://linuxtv.org/media_build.git .

Whenever I connect the usb receiver, this is the dmesg output:

Code:
[ 817.386566] usb 1-1.2: new high-speed USB device number 6 using ehci-pci
Nothing else, it doesn't matter if I have loaded previously the modules in the kernel by executing "modprobe dvb-usb-rtl28xxu" or not. Not even the "dvb" folder is present in /dev. I don't really know what to do next

Thanks in advance.

Check this out. You may need to add d398 by hand before you build.

I already tried that, and my device identifier (d398) is already defined in the sources by default. I tried adding it again but it still doesn't work

Have you tried to load the module by hand?

You mean by means of "modprobe"? Yes I do, still doesn't work :/. In fact dmesg informs me that the new module has been loaded into the kernel when I modprobe it, but if I plug the device then, it is just not recognised as a dvb receiver.

Well, there was three steps you had to take. Editing sources, building the module and installing the module. Something went wrong somewhere.
