Problems on installation with onboard HPT372controller

I am now planning to install rh9 on my epox 4g4a+ with 2xQuantum 20GB UDMA66 HD connected to the onboard HPT372 controller.
According to the instruction of the driver package ( obtained from hpt official site ), i need to update bios of the HPT372 controller first.
I dont know if the bios image will work on my onboard controller or just for those HPT372 pci adaptors.
Can anyone tell me?

if it's any use, I have that chip, and MDK9.0 and 9.1 both detected it fine. I didn't try installing onto it though. However, if its a clean install, the worst that could happen is you need to reformat!
