Problems getting my DWL-G630 working with slackware

I went to: http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/Distro/Slackware and downloaded the slackware package and installed it, and I was going to move onto the other steps, but when I did a iwconfig ath0 wasn't there, just eth0 for the onboard NIC on my toshiba s129. Is there any reason why ath0 wouldn't show up? I've tried everything I can think of, but I am a bit of a slackware novice, any suggestions/experience with this? Running slackware 10.2

Do you have pcmcia card services installed?

Does anything appear in dmesg when you insert the card?

I enabled pcmcia card services when I installed slackware, and when I eject the card it beeps once, but one I put in the card nothing, here is something I saw in cardmgr:
Quote:
# cardmgr cardmgr[5564]: open_sock(socket 0) failed: Device or resource busy cardmgr[5564]: another cardmgr is already running?
I pulled up dmesg and this seems to come up anytime I insert the card:

Quote:

You have to load the ath_pci module into the kernel before ath0 will show up. So you have the packages installed as root try this. yourmachine~/#modprobe ath_pci then you have to bring up the ath0 device. yourmachine~/# ifconfig ath0 up follow the rest of the documentation and you'll be up and running.
