Yea i had similar problem with my old board i needed to download the drivers directly from ATI.com

i even had to use a couple versions old since Xpress is(was at the time) only supported on every 2nd Driver pack.

You may need to try a couple.

Hi, thanks for your reply. But after downloading and installing the driver, i am facing the same problem. no improvement.!! :(

What happened to you? is your problem solved?

From memory it happened because the driver wasnt loading properly.

if your use
ALT+CTRL+ "numkey(plus)" or minus
which changes resolutions does the prob go away?
if so
Open Sax2 and enable 3d Acceleration and choose another screen resolution.

else or Still no go make sure
driver=fglrx ? in the X conf file
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
