Unhappy Problem with SUN 21-inch N3 - aka Samsung 1100DF - image warping

Hi

I have a SUN 21-inch N3, which is just a rebranded Samsung 1100 DF that I'm using for my Fedora 4 desktop...

There is terrible warping on the left side of the screen. This is evident if you look at the top... everthing is bent (horizonatlly)....

I was wondering if anyone has had problems like this before?.... I'm not posting any kernel or video card details yet as the problem seem to be with the last 2 large CRT monitors that I have.... The one at home and Acer 19" (forget the model) does the same.... but not only with Fedora, but with windows XP as well...

Does anyone know what the problem could be or could someone point me in the direction of a website that could help....

It's not that I can't use them... but it's just frustrating and no amount of playing around with pincushion, pinbalance, trapezoid setting on the monitor seem to help... have also degaussed many times to no avail...

This is drive me crazy

Thanks

Greg

you may have high current electrical cables running thru your wall in the vicinity of your monitor, try moving it.
you also need to eliminate your hardware, cables and monitor by trying them one at a time on other systems which don't cause this.

I think this behavior may be common with very large CRTs. You may be able to fix it by using your monitor setup to expand the screen size or it may be that you just need to push the degaussing button. Otherwise I think you may want to look into switching to an LCD monitor. And make sure that there are no magnets near the screen.
