Problem with serial ata and kernel 2.6.7

Hello everybody,
I have P4CE800D (i875). In first time i say i have problems with that mb. Problem with 'lost interrupt and disable IRQ...". I resolve this problem with adding "append="noirqdebug"" in lilo.conf. But now i have another problem, i cloned my linux partition in the serial ata disk. The linux recognize the sata disk as "hde" with kernel 2.6.3 and with kernel 2.6.7 as "sdb" with the same option, knoppix recognize as hde same.I d'ont understand why. May be someone can help me.
The second problem is when i cloned my linux, that's ok now, but when i changed lilo.conf to boot="sdb' and "root=sdb3",i reboot , and lilo d'ont foind the root="". I think it's because at startup, just before the known of ich5R, the sata is not recognize, only p-ata are recognize.

Thanks for informations.

You may want to take a look at other posts on this subject .. I have worked extensively with sata and linux and have come to some results.. but w/o going into detail here it would easier to just have you read more about it. ich5 WILL work with linux.. intel is prbably the best approach to using sata i have seen (in regards to linux anyway..) It is the chipset I run. Anyway here are some posts:

Try all these. For generic distro's try last one. Some others are from slackware...though they should apply to most distro anyway.
