Problem with RedHat 9 update

Hi all,

Well, I'm a Linux newbie, have just installed RedHat 9. Everything seems to work fine, but when I go for a RedHat update, it seems that my filesystem has not enough free space... (I got messages like "[update package name] requires 5 MB on /filesystem" .

First thing: How do I check for filesystem available space ?

In fact, when I check for freespace, system monitor shows me partitions and available space, but nothing about /filesystem...

Last thing : How do I make some freespace on filesystem ?

Tx a lot,

Kar.

df -h

"/ filesystem" probably refers to your root.

make freespace: configure up2date to delete packages after install, or resize the partition.

fyi - free updates have expired for Redhat 9 (no new packages anymore)
