|
im using red hat linux enterprise 3...
HBAs only use for data storage... this is one of my research for my industry training or internship training.. please help me.. u must tell me all about the HBAs... |
what server do you have there, is it Dell as well?
|

whoa! that's an ancient one. anyhow, post the usual stuff - lspci, dmesg... you know the drill
also look here: http://support.dell.com/support/down...3&fileid=11982 this is a diagnostic utility diskette images, might help to see if you have hardware problems there. AFAIK 660F was not designed to work with linux, it was there in the NT4 days. So there is no native tool to manage it under linux. What you need to try to make it work, is to get some kind of SAN management software for linux. If you have Qlogic HBAs, you can try to use SANsurfer from the Qlogic website. But anyhow, this thing is so old, you'd better give it away to charity and get a proper SAN box. |
okay...
thanx for all your information.. |
are you sure that PV 660f do not work with linux..??
okay nevermind... thanx again.. |
I am sure it is not a Dell supported configuration for this particular SAN. But as I said, there might be a workaround, that might be achieved if you find HBA specific software that would control the SAN under linux
