problem with powervault 660F
 
hye hey...
im a newbie here...

my problem is where can i get linux driver for powervault 660F..
im using linux red hat enterprise 3
please someone help me..
this is one of my research for Industry Training..

the linux driver you need is for the HBAs, not the storage box.

well, what server are you using there? what are the HBAs used?

im using red hat linux enterprise 3...
HBAs only use for data storage...

this is one of my research for my industry training or internship training..
please help me..
u must tell me all about the HBAs...

whoa! that's an ancient one. anyhow, post the usual stuff - lspci, dmesg... you know the drill

this is a diagnostic utility diskette images, might help to see if you have hardware problems there.

AFAIK 660F was not designed to work with linux, it was there in the NT4 days. So there is no native tool to manage it under linux. What you need to try to make it work, is to get some kind of SAN management software for linux. If you have Qlogic HBAs, you can try to use SANsurfer from the Qlogic website. But anyhow, this thing is so old, you'd better give it away to charity and get a proper SAN box.

are you sure that PV 660f do not work with linux..??

I am sure it is not a Dell supported configuration for this particular SAN. But as I said, there might be a workaround, that might be achieved if you find HBA specific software that would control the SAN under linux
