Problem with Logitech PS/2 wheel mouse?
I have a dual-boot system with Win98 & RHL 9. Previously I had RHL 8 which detected my Logitech PS/2 wheel mouse as a 3-button mouse. Now RHL 9 detects it as a Generic PS/2 wheel mouse, but the problem is that the mouse is detected only on alternate boot-ups! ie When I reboot or shutdown&startup the mouse is not detected and kudzu asks if I want to keep or remove its configuration. If I keep the config, loading the console mouse service fails and X server doesnt start. Also the mouse is not detected even if I start Windows instead of Linux. Now if I reboot, everything works fine. In the next reboot again the mouse is not detected (if it was detected in Linux on the previous attempt). I dont get this problem if I reboot only to Windows. On Linux, however, the mouse is detected only on alternate boot-ups. I did not have this problem with RHL 8 but I dont want to give up the scroll functionality of RHL 9. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

Check your XFree Config file in Mouse section ..
/etc/X11/... |
I think it might be a hardware problem.
1) Check the cable connection from mouse to ur pc 2) Try some other mouse (pro'lly ur friends'). If the same happens, then ur ps/2 port has problems. |
