Problem with IRQ on ASUS A6B00R laptop

Hi, im using Slackware 10.2 and trying to compile kernel 2.6.15. And there seems to be a IRQ conflict between the ide-cd driver and network adapter driver (8139too for realtek based NIC's). When i load 8139too driver then DVD-ROM stops working and ide-cd driver says:

ide-cd: cmd 0x1e timed out
hdc: lost interrupt

or:

ide-cd: cmd 0x5a timed out
hdc: lost interrupt

Laptop is based on Ati IXP chipset,
DVD-ROM: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-84
NIC: based on RealTek RTL8139 chip

Does anybody knows howto resolve this problem?

Before installing Slackware on that laptop i tried a Slax 5.0.7b live-cd which uses the same kernel and everything went fine, the same drivers were used. Maybe there is something with kernel configuration.
