Problem with Intel Display Driver

Hello,

I have Ubuntu 10.10 maverick and I am having problems with my video card, drivers are installed and everything but, when I put glxgears the FPS is very small as you can see:

alpha@alpha-laptop:~$ glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
185 frames in 5.0 seconds = 36.945 FPS
136 frames in 5.0 seconds = 27.199 FPS
134 frames in 5.0 seconds = 26.762 FPS
148 frames in 5.0 seconds = 29.561 FPS
251 frames in 5.0 seconds = 50.094 FPS
275 frames in 5.0 seconds = 54.973 FPS
160 frames in 5.0 seconds = 31.961 FPS
113 frames in 5.0 seconds = 22.569 FPS
117 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.341 FPS

my video card is the following:

alpha@alpha-laptop:~$ lspci -v -k | grep Display
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

and drivers are suppously installed:

alpha@alpha-laptop:~$ glxinfo | grep render
direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM GEM 20100330 DEVELOPMENT x86/MMX/SSE2

and here is my xorg.conf

Code:

# xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
#

So, how can I fix this?

That's the best performance you'll get with that card. The 945GM isn't the best integrated chip, and I would imagien glxgears needs a reasonable amount of grunt.

Are you sure about that because I had Debian before and I think I had a better perfomance thank this one.

glxgears framerate is meaningless. Test a real 3D application.
