Problem with intel 82801 HD audio

I have just installed open suse 11.1

In the start the sound was working, but after a while llinux says "The sound device HDA Intel (ALC861 Analog) Does not work, using default as a reserve. When i try play musik the sound is really low and scratchy. If you need any information to solve this just ask, but remember this is my first linux ever and i have just used it in 6 hours so if i need to post anything just tell me where to find it :-D

Are you running ALSA as your sound system? If so, have you run alsaconf to see if alsa recognises your card?
cheers,
