Problem with Epson printer or Cups
Using Mandriva 2006, 2.3ghz_x64, 1g ram, Epson CX3810.
The printer starts printing blank pages when turned on and will not stop. Turn the printer off or unplug it and it continues printing blank pages. Clicking on 'System, Configuration, Printing' shows 'Mtink, PUP and XPP' but no CUPS. How is this problem solved? dlw |
Cups won't show up there. Cups has a unique/odd interface--the browser.

I did as suggested but it still does it.

It prints pages with the printqueue stopped?
Earlier you said, "unplug it and it continues printing..." Does that mean with the printer cable (parallel, USB or serial) unplugged it keeps on printing? Of you cycled power by pulling the plug? Some printers will store a job and keep on printing after being interrupted. Can you reset it from it's control panel? |
It's working as a C66.
Thanks for replying. Do you know how to get the scanner working? dlw |
No, I've never setup a scanner. But I understand they use the sane packages (sane-frontends, sane-backends, libsane1).
The sane web site is here. |
