Unhappy Problem with ADSL Eicon (USB)

I'm sorry to open another thread about those damn adsl USB modems, but after having read all the threads related to this topic, I still do not have a possible answer for my problem.

I'm using Suse 8.2 and every time I try to connect my adsl modem, I get disconnected after a few secs.

This is a part of my log file: (i had to write it over from the other pc)

After is't connected i get this:

Script /etc/ppp/ip-up started (pid 3801)
modify_resolvconf: Service pppd modified /etc/resolv.conf. See info block in this file
Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 3801), status = 0x0
Modem hangup
cbcp_lowerdown
Script /etc/pppip-down started (pid 3870)
Connection terminated
Connect time 0.5 minutes.
....

I'm a newbie in Linux and I really don't understand how it comes that the modem disconnects after a few secs.

All help would be really appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance
