Problem to map my MacBookPro Keyboard on Kali

hello to all
I installed kali via parallels on mac
I have a problem with keyboard mapping (I have a french keyboard)
I can't find the right settings to configure kali on my mac keyboard
I thought I had found the solution...
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...440&height=577
but it doesn't work
I tried to modify by hand the file /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/pc but still not
(I exchanged ALT_L and SUPER_L in the above file)
And finally, I tried to reassign via successive xev + xmodmap but I must be doing it wrong because it doesn't work
I have an mbpro M1
My bottom line on my keyboard is the following:
[Fn] [Control ^] [Option] [Command] [Space] [Command] [Option]
Moreover, my keyboard even if it is "fr" keeps assigning the ' - ' to the key 6 and the key that normally should write me ' - ' writes me '='
Please, help me !
I can't type a | and it prevents me from advancing in my project, it's frustrating

I already saw this page, but my problem is that Alt / Ctrl keys (Opt / Cmd on Mac) are not well mapped through this ... Actually, Opt + Shift + L should give me a '|' but it gives me nothing.
I think the best thing for me would be to find some kind of "map" that tells me what keys need to be mapped to what keycode.

I solved my problem by specifying "mac" to the command !

setxkbmap fr mac

(mac in 2nd position because its a "variant")

Well caught! Linux should spot non-PC keyboards during the boot (including things like Sun workstations and mainframe terminals) but I assume that Kali doesn't bother since it's not a general-purpose distro.

If running Kali via Parallels on a Mac is a supported configuration, this should be raised as a bug so it can be fixed for others (and in any future versions you run).

If it's not supported, you should consider using a method that is (i.e. different VM software), otherwise you might encounter further issues due to other untested use-cases.
