Problem Printing Windows Shared HP OfficeJet d135
I am having problems printing from my laptop, running Red Hat 8.0 (kernel 2.4.18-24.8.0) with KDE 3.0.3-8. I am trying to print to an HP OfficeJet d135 (printer/scanner/fax/copier) that is shared from a Windoze 98 box over a standard Ethernet LAN. I have already downloaded the driver for the printer from SourceForge and installed it. Here is the error I get when trying to print a test page from the Red Hat Printing Config window.:
A print error occured. Error message received from system:
/usr/bin/lpr -P 'OfficeJet_D135' '-#1' '/usr/share/apps/kdeprint/testprint.ps' : execution failed with message:
Get_local_host: 'localhost' IP address not available!
I can access other shared directories on the Windows box that owns the printer, using the smbclient command and I can mount those shares using a standard mount command. So, I'm a little lost as to why I'm having these problems. Also, I get my IP address from this Windows 98 box, since I haven't gotten around to giving my Linux workstation all those responsibilities yet.
Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any help offered.
