I installed Fedora and while the installation the mouse USB was known by the system. But once installed, the system doesn't know the mouse. So I can't use the mouse and sure I can't use the system... That was hapened with Red Hat 9 too. Somebody know how to fix the problem...

which fedora?? 4 is best for usb mice.

which kernel do you have.. 2.6 supports usp mice, less than that.. i dunno.

run xf86config or xorgconf from the command line.

choose imps/2 for 'mouse protocol'

and /dev/input/mice for 'mouse device'

if you use xf86config you may need to copy the final file from: /etc/X11/XF86Config to /etc/X11/XF86Confg-4 (if that is your systems normal x config file)

or if you edit your x config file directly, make sure your mouse sections is similar to this:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
EndSection

good luck, lettuce know

you may need to disconnect your 'on board' mouse in bios.

but be VERY careful in bios, or you can render your system inoperatable.

also, make sure the mouse is compatable with linux, and the drivers are installed.

good luck.
