Problem mounting CDs
A problem seemed to pop up out of nowhere today, when I insert a CD (blank or otherwise) into my drive, K3b opens up (its set to do this with blank CDs) and data CDs don't automaticly mount, I tried mounting CDs at the command line (as normal user and as root) but get this message:
/dev/hdb: Input/output error
mount: block device /dev/hdb is write-protected, mounting read-only
/dev/hdb: Input/output error
mount: /dev/hdb: can't read superblock
So I'm guessing that for some reason the drive is recognizing the disc but not the file system on it (note: have tried about half a dozen different discs)
Don't know if this is related, but K3b says there is no media in the drive when I try to write to a blank disc (yet still opens up when I insert a blank disc)
Heres the fstab output if that helps at all:
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdb /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-15,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-15,sync,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
Any ideas?
