Problem mounting an ntfs drive, only root may read..

Hello!

I've just installed suse 10.0, and because I've also got an windows installation I also want to read the windows drives.

When I use the mount option, ($ su, pass, #mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/win) it all works, but when I try to open the disk with my normal user, the computer only tells me that I don't have the right privilieges..

What should I do? I don't think I always have to use the root user?

Please help me!

Add a line to /etc/fstab and what it really needs is the umask=000 option. Might be umask=0000 can't remember which.

Code:

/dev/hdb1       	/mnt/win                  ntfs	umask=000,users,noauto,owner,rw 0 0

Then you can mount it using ' mount /dev/hdb1 '.
