Hi Hasan,

USB ADSL modems are a real pain to get working under Linux. However, I happen to know that other people have had the BT Voyager modem working, so don't panic, it can be done.

However, it won't be as simple as using the Mandrake graphical tools, the only help that I've been able to dig up is at:

I hope this is of some help.

an easier (and often more reliable solution) is to install a cheap network card in your copmuter and just use the 10/100 hookup on the modem. This way your linux box only needs to worry about the NIC and assigning an IP via DHCP (wihc your mandrake box will do by default).

The BT Voyager USB Modem is supported by those Linux drivers. I'm using these drivers on my DLink ADSL200 modem, running on my Redhat 9.0 box. Setup is VERY easy, just run the config program, feed in your ISP details, and run. Instant online.

It was easier to setup the USB modem on redhat than it was on WinXP!!

what 10/100 hookup on the modem are you talking about? bt voyager modem right? only usb (small size) port on it, or can u get an adaptor for ethernet (rj45)? this would be sweet
