Problem installing Lexmark X1150

I have Red Hat 9.0 and a Lexmark X1150.

The hardware detection seems to find the printer and configures it, even chooses the driver for Lexmark 1100-series printers.

Unfortunatly - I can not print. If I try to print a test page nothing arrives at the printer. Here are the entries from the logfile:

I[05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Adding start banner page "none" to job 4.
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Adding end banner page "none" to job 4.
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Job 4 queued on 'Lexmark' by 'root'.
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 4919) for job 4.
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip (PID 4920) for job 4.
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb (PID 4921) for job 4.
W [05/Jan/2004:00:04:09 -0600] [Job 4] Media tray empty!
E [05/Jan/2004:00:04:12 -0600] PID 4920 stopped with status 1!
I [05/Jan/2004:00:04:12 -0600] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
What does "Media tray empty" mean?
Oh - yes, I do have paper in my printer ;-)

Thanks you!!

Hi. I was interested to know if you had problems with placing the toner cartridges. I just bought a Lexmark X1150, and when I lift the scanner unit, instead of placing the toners unit in the middle, it sends it fast to the very left of the printer. Did you have that problem?
Thank you for your response.
I really hate to bundle up again and return the printer, if there is something I can reset myself.

I am having the exact same problem only with a Lexmark 5150. It is detected fine, but won't print, gives basically the same error messages and says my media tray is empty. Is there any way to get these printers to work? I am using Fedora Core 1 by the way.

I don't have the problem with the cartridges. No problem here ;-)

I didn't get the printer to work and use the printer now under my Windows partition.

Sorry :-(
