Problem Installing Fedora Core 3 on ite8211 controller


system : asus mb,wd 200gb hdd,p4 cpu,ite 8211 controller.
i am trying to install fc3 but the installer cant see my hdd,because of the controller.
on the ite site i can't find any drivers for fc3,just the source code,which i cant "make".what should i do???
i've sent some e-mails to ite support but have no answer yet.
the controller is embed on the mb.when i try to plan the data cable of the hdd to the connector not controlled by the contoller the system see the hdd wrong,no matter what bios changes i do.

Any suggestion?!?!?!????

and download the latest and the greatest driver for your controller. It comes with precompiled versions of the driver "iteraid.o" i use Slackware so i compiled the source that comes with it but i beleive the precompiled version for Red Hat should work a OK with Fedora Core. There is also a manual on each distribution on how to install the ITE8211 driver. Good Luck.

hi all,

I'm use Debian GNU/Linux.
I want to use SATA raid (mode 1) but I have similar problem.
How can i resolve this?

I couldn't find any solution this problem on Google.

rleoman look in debian forum for similar topic. Know your hardware specifics please.

Hi,


My hardware information;
Asus P5LD2 mainboard, 160GB HDD x 2 (Raid 1).

I'm boot to computer from Debian sarge 3.1 cd expret26 mode (contain kernel 2.6.8).
Debian installer says no ethernet card, no partitonable media because recognize ide controller and ethernet device.
