Problem in configuring eth1 with public IP


Good day guys,
I have these problem whereby after configuring my eth1 with a public IP, at first it works fine but i restart it goes down with a message
Bringing up interface eth1: Error, some other host already uses address -IP address-
So what shall i do?

What's this public IP address ?

Seems like you are just using an IP address without care .. and your box complains that this IP address is being used by someone else also.

Make sure the IP address you have is available .. turn off your machine and use another one to ping the ip address and find out who's using it
