Hello List,
I'm trying to install the Conextant HSF modem that is in my Sony Vaio PCG-GRX316MP laptop.
I am running RedHat 7.2 2.4.7-10 i686.
I have downloaded the correct hsflinmodem driver from
www.mbsi.ca in an .rpm format
done the hsfconfig which ran without reporting any errors
tried to connect using Gnomes Internet connection - but it can't find my modem, it keeps coming up with 'failed to activate interface' or 'Sorry modem is busy'
so I told it to find it at /dev/ttySHSFO which is where the software told me it was at.....still nothing...
..
I have checked ls -l /dev/modem which confirms the location of the driver.
I have also tried using KDE's Kppp but this can't see my modem either.
I'm running out of ideas (i'm only on my third day with Linux)
I want to stay with Linux but without a modem it'll be hard....please can somebody help???
Thank you,
Rob
