I'm a Linux Newbie and I'm having a bit of a problem with setting up my scanner.
Scanner: Canon FB630P
Distro: Suse Linux 9.3
Kernel: linux 2.6.11.4-20a-default
Using YaST, I tried to configure my scanner but it does not seem to work.
In YaST, Hardware, I selected Scanner. It is not autodetected so I proceeded to manually configure. I selected Configure, picked Scanner Model and Driver - Canon CanoScan FB630P: Driver 'canon_pp'(package 'sane')
Clicked on Next,YaST displays "Setting up canon_pp...", then Next button becomes enabled but "Setting up canon_pp..." remains displayed.
Clicked on Next, it displays next screen with the following:
Configuration Summary:
Active Scanners: CANON FB630P at canon_pp

arport0
Active Drivers: (blank)
I tested it:
scanimage
scanimage: no SANE devices found
Kooka of course won't get any.
I'm fairly new to Linux so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Gali
