Probably a silly question, but is it possible to share with Windows XP?

I wish to share information between my laptop (Mandrake 9.1/WinXP) and home PC (WinXP). I have a LAN connection that worked fine in WinXP on the Laptop, but am having trouble configuring it for the Mandrake half. Is it even possible? I've tried messing around Drake Control Centre, but can't seem to get anywhere.

Yes, in fact I am doing it right now the easyest way:
on the Xp box, set a folder to be shared over your network
on linux box type: service smb start
there you go

You mean in the console?

It says

bash: service: command not found

Go into Mandrake Control Center, Software, Install Software. Then install samba.

You can also configure Samba (I think) using Webmin. You've been using Webmin, right? Open a browser, go to https://yourhostname:10000. This is a GUI system administration system that handles, well, basically everything.

Not only is this not a silly question, many people think Linux/Samba is a better Windows server than Windows.
