Printing to windows Shared Printer
Hi guys
Ive been trying to print to a printer which is shared from a windows box.
Its a lexmark X1270.
Cups is running and i added a printer, the version of my printer wasnt listed (using the web interface) so i just added a random one lol. When i tried to print a test page, the printer starts doing something and then stops without printing.
So after googling i found that the X1270 can use the Z600 driver, so i installed that, and tried again, this time the printer doesnt even start to do anything.
I know the printer is shared properly because i can print to it from another windows box.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Kane

Don't specify a driver. Set it up in RAW mode then try it again.

What an idiot lol,
On the cups web interface where it says Location of device, i removed the smb: bit.
So its working now, using the z600 driver.
Thanks for your help
